In the lead up to the New England Rugby Union season, Saturday's trial provided the perfect opportunity for the Glen Innes Elkettes' newcomers to have their first taste of women's sevens, as well as allowing the more experienced players to gel.
The final result in the first match is up for debate, but there was only a conversion in it, while the Elkettes dominated the second match.
Captain Sarah Byrne was happy overall with their effort and believes there is plenty of potential within the squad.
"Look, for the fact it was our first game, we played unreal," she said.
"We couldn't be more proud of everyone and their efforts.

"I think just not playing together ever was the only weakness but literally we all have the ball skill and heart to go the whole way."
It puts them in good stead for the coming season with a handful a players not available for the trial match.
"We were missing a couple of players like Sarah Woolfe and Bella Reardon who will add heaps of impact when they do play," Byrne said.
Round one of the NERU competition commences this Saturday with Glen Innes scheduled to host the new Coffs Harbour-based team, the Harbour Knights.
Due to the coast side not fielding a women's sevens team, the Elkettes will have the bye.
