The Youth Booth, which opened last year creating a place for young people to hang out, has had a renovation, making it even more appealing and functional for local youth.
It has been very popular as a "home away from home" for many.
Billed as a place for the town's young to help blow off steam, the $300,000 centre was devised in the aftermath of a series of 2018 youth suicides and self-harm incidents in Glen Innes. But it was never intended as a trauma centre.
Instead it's simply a place where kids can be kids.
Those who attend the Youth Advisory Committee AGM on Monday, will have the opportunity to have a preview at the newly refurbished space.
With the premises improved, the greatest need now is people.
The Youth Advisory committee is calling out for volunteers to join the group.
Joining the committee provides a great way to get to know and meet members of the community and feel like you are contributing to the wellbeing of our young people and our community.
- The Youth Booth is located at 152 Wentworth Street. The AGM on Monday starts at 3.30pm.
