Two gardens directly affected by the recent bushfires were open last weekend as part of a free open winter garden event and more than 300 people walked through the properties.
Rosedale at Stannum was open on Saturday while Whinstanes was open on Sunday.
Meredith Kirton - gardening expert, author and Gardening Australia presenter alumni was also be on hand to conduct workshops at each garden with Pam Youman from Black Mountain Nursery and Sarah Caldwell from Mole River Native Nursery.
The newly appointed Glen Innes local DPI Recovery Support Officer Jane Munro attended both workshops and the weekend proved to be a great opportunity for attendees to connect with her and find out what services they are eligible for.
Catering was provided by the Deepwater Public School P&C and the Glen Innes Pony Club.
The event was funded through the NSW DPI Rural Resilience Program, NSW Environmental Trust, NSW Stronger Country Communities & Glen Innes Severn Council.
The weekend was facilitated and delivered by the team at GLENRAC.
