A hundred years in the life of a person is a worthy celebration and for the Pinkett community their local hall is no different.

In 1920 a local group wanted to erect permanent but useful tribute to the men who served during WWI and it was agreed to build a hall as the memorial.
The hall was opened in February 1921 and in September of 1923 the WWI Honour Roll unveiled.
Since that time an Honour Roll for WWII was added to the wall and the hall has stood the test of time.
"The old hall is having a bit of a makeover with new roof, electrical upgrade and cladding to sustain her for another 100 years," Pinkett Sports committee President Trevor Miller, said.
"The building is iconic and valued in our community, which is why we thought to showcase the people and special times in their lives that the hall has been part of as the host venue for those events."
The committee is already gathering items such as copies of photos and stories from anyone who has attended Pinkett Hall no matter the event or year.

It has hosted birthday parties, kitchen teas, engagement parties, weddings, family reunions, school functions, debutant balls, dances, memorial services and meetings.
"We'd like to get photos of the people and recollections from those events to put on the wall for the 9 October birthday party," committee member Barb Holliss said.
"If you have a photo, take it to Ray White in Glen Innes and they will take a copy and hand the original back.
"We are keen to find a image of the hall pre 1988 before the brick faade was installed, even a image with the hall in the background would be great."
Any stories can be written down and left at Ray White also or alternatively all of this can be emailed to pinketthall100@gmail.com.
The committee hopes to have everything organised by the end of September.
