On Sunday 68 players from across our Northwest region braved the icy conditions to play another round of the Junior Development Series. The Peter Cole Tennis Academy had over 25 players in the tournament making up over 1/3rd of the field. Peter was very pleased with the results and the way all the players conducted themselves in what was for some their very first tournament. In the very short time some of these players have been with the academy they have demonstrated their willingness to achieve their goals, and with only a few more rounds left of the JDS we already have players in the top 8 of their age divisions.

The top 8 will travel to Tamworth for a seeding tournament so pools can be determined and the top 8 ranked accordingly. Players who achieved success this weekend were Harry Purvis (GUYRA) winner of under 8's boys, Hannah Sheppard (TENTERFIELD) Runner up in the 12's girls, this was Hannah’s first tournament so a very good result. Caleb Kemp (GLEN INNES) runner up in the under 8's boys. Daniel Helsdingen (INVERELL) winner of 21's.
Players to make the finals were Angus Lane (GI), Archie Davidson (G) Elly Petrie (T), Isabella Every (GI), Lauren Hall, Renee Jenkins (T). Other players to do well were Izaac Chard, Mitchelll and Lochlan Davidson, Ethan Bain, Alkira Blair, Madison Norley and Olivia Walmsley from Glen Innes, Aiden Purvis, Wylie Wright and Claudia Mckemmy form Guyra, Matt Carpenter, Talon and Brea Kelly and Sarah Harvey from Tenterfield. What a great achievement from all these players. We are so very proud of all your efforts and look forward to working with all of you and the rest of the academy in the next term of coaching in our areas. Thanks also must go to the Parents/Carers who travel to these tournaments and show their unrivaled support for our academy juniors. We have two juniors selected in the CHS northwest state tennis team to be played later in the year and we wish Angus Lane and Olivia Walmsley all the best in their pursuit for victory. DREAM IT! BELIEVE IT! ACHIEVE IT!
