It’s called Glen Innes Highlands Tours and is a partnership between Lloyd and Wendy Hornsby of the Gawura Gallery and three other local people, Judi Toms, Sheryl Nourse who was behind the Chill N Glen promotion by the council and John Neve who will manage the finances.
There is no public money involved but the participants have put in some money each to set up a website and do marketing.
The idea is to offer tours, perhaps associated with events like the forthcoming History House conference on local history or the Minerama gem and jewellery show in March. The tours may be walking or by bus, depending on distance.
The area around Glen Innes is rich in historical sites like Deepwater railway station or the mining museum in Emmaville, as well as events like the sheep races in Emmaville.
