Organisers said a thousand people turned up at the races on Saturday and $25,000 was raised towards renovating the Old Court House as a community centre.

People came from as far away as Northern Queensland and Victoria.
Ann Fairbanks, the president of the organising committee, said: “It was a fantastic day. The weather was perfect.”
And another organiser, Lyn Schumacher, said: “It was absolutely fantastic. It was completely packed. The weather was great and everybody is looking forward to coming back.”
There were thirty corporate tents, taken by organisations as diverse as the school, Glenwood care home and a tour company from Brisbane.
