A person or persons has removed the base of the ramps on which skate-boarders skate. It means the whole ramp is unusable.
The mystery is motive. The culprit seems to have known how skate-board parks operate and also the necessity of the piece where the ramp meets the ground. On top of that, the removal of the pieces of metal must have been laborious and taken some time.
The council said they had told the police and closed the park. They’ve started the preparatory work for repairing the facility. At the moment, they’re contacting people who create skate-board parks to find out how much replacements would cost.
At the time of writing, the police were not making any comment.
There does seem to be a determined vandal or group of vandals in Glen Innes at the moment.
Someone has been attacking the bollards behind the Town Hall for some months, removing the screws at the bottom and just leaving the bollards on their side – all undeterred by several closed circuit TV cameras in the area.
