Red Range Public School, Wytaliba Public School, Glen Innes West Infants School, and Emmaville Central School were holding their athletics carnival.
This is the first time all four schools have held the event together, Red Range principal Nicole Hutton said. “It’s given kids from all schools an opportunity to socialise with other students.”
Many of these children will go on to Glen Innes High School, so making friends is important.
For pupils from smaller schools, like Glen Innes West Infants’, the day gives them a chance to be with older kids.
The competition was all in good spirit. “It’s not about coming first,” Red Range’s Scott Walker explained, “but about every kid doing their best, so they have the confidence to try next time.”
