The Commonwealth bank branch office staff voted to donate the money to the soccer club.
Their current metal nets are so heavy they have to be dragged into position by a car. Chris Wilson said the donation will make a big difference for the club, which boasts about 180 participating kids.
"Absolutely - we're a not for profit club so every little bit helps," he said.
The club is hoping to be able to snag a deal for four bownets, which are small flexible nets often made of plastic.
Some retail for as much as $400, though the cheapest cost less than $100.
The Commonwealth bank donated a comically large $500 cheque to the District Football association on Thursday afternoon.
Mandy Crisp, who is Commonwealth Bank Glen Innes Branch Manager, said the Glen Innes bank branch actually voted to support the Glen Innes District Football Association.
"We're very excited to have the opportunity to support the Glen Innes District Football Association," she said.
"In particular, the work that the Committee puts into promoting and supporting the health and fitness of our younger community members, subsequently they have the largest registration for Junior Sport in our community, so it's great to be able to give back and support this work."
