Glen Innes's Christmas in the Highlands was, mayor Carol Sparks said, a beautiful, joyful evening.
There was live entertainment from schools and the Jacaranda Highland Dancers. There were stalls to buy food and Christmas gifts. And there was good cheer in the air.
"It's nice to see positive people smiling and enjoying the night," council's general manager Craig Bennett said - "especially after what we've been through over the last few weeks."

The first eight winners of the Spend in Glen promotion were drawn that night. Maryanne Brookfield, Jim Corkhill, Nat Ward, Kat, Warren Chaffey, Tracey Clifford, Karen Lee, and Kylie Duddy all won $250 gift cards to spend in town.
Michelle Smith from Emmaville narrowly missed out on the night's big prize of $500. Her name was drawn - but unfortunately she was at her home an hour's drive away. Winners have four minutes to claim the money before it goes back into the jackpot.
