The New England highway is set to close on the edge of Glen Innes next Monday with the road to be reduced to one lane for a week.

The road, also called Church street, will be closed between Heron Street and MacKenzie street south of town from Monday January 20.
The essential maintenance work will be finished by January 25.
Traffic will be reduced to one late with alternative flow with traffic control and reduced speed limits, for safety of workers and drivers.
Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, and follow the direction of signs and traffic control.
