Member for Northern Tablelands Adam Marshall was offered, during a catch up with the team, to climb up the 137-metre tower to admire the view.
"I had a blast being back at the Sapphire Wind Farm last week, to catch up with the team and climb open off the 137-metre high turbine towers. It's a long climb to the top, or a 10 minute ride in the lift, but the view is well worth it," he said.
Mr Marshall thanked Facility Manager David Williamson and Vestas Trades Assistant Denyelle O'Brien, Technician James Inskip and Supervisor Garry Hilcke for the opportunity.
"What an experience!," Mr Marshall said.
Located between Glen Innes and Inverell and comprising 75 3.6 megawatt turbines, Sapphire is the largest wind farm in NSW, with a capacity of 270 megawatts and producing enough electricity to power 115,000 average homes each year.
The turbines are 200 metres to blade tip and occupy freehold land within and adjacent to agricultural areas.
The construction at Sapphire Wind Farm started in January 2017 and ran until late 2018.
