After receiving a White Rock Wind Farm Community Fund grant the Glen Innes Historical Society was finally able to get the long awaited improvement to its main entrance driveway.

The main entrance to the history museum was heavily degraded, and began to pose an issue of safety for those walking or driving on the path.
"The main entrance has fallen into disarray over the past years and is in need of repairs," Duty Clerk Steve Pearce said.
As one of the 23 recipients of the grant the project was approved and work was able to commence on resurfacing the driveway.
The Historical Society used its $7000 grant money to commission Glen Innes Severn Council to complete the works.
After gaining the funding, the project was quoted earlier this month, the GISC wasted no time in undertaking the work.
"The resurfacing work took two days," Mr Pearce said.
"They started on August 5 and completed the next day.
"The $7,000 grant enabled the completion of the project in two days."
Members of the society are glad to have their entrance repaired.
"It is a great improvement to our main entrance when compared to the road condition prior to the work administered by the Glen Innes Severn Council," Mr Pearce said.
"The driveway repairs will allow visitors to attend with the new improved access.
The $7000 funding was received from White Rock Wind Farm Community Fund.
As another of the recipients of the White Rock Wind Farm grant the society has committed to the repair of the main entrance driveway.
