"The epic deeds of the cream of Australia's manhood in the greatest task ever set the members of the Empire were not forgotten in Glen Innes which itself contributed no mean quota," the paper reported.
"The day was more than one of commemoration; they had not merely to remember but to catch the spirit of indomitable courage and heroism of the Anzacs... Rev AP Cameron urged that they should not merely look back but should look forward."
