The idea this time is super simple: anyone, anywhere, on anything can be part of the ride.
"You can on a hard seasoned ride with a few mates; a training ride," said Mr Stone.
"You can do it as part of an organised race if you want to.
"Or you can just get the kids, family, friends, mates together ride down to McDonalds and back.
"When you come back later maybe throw some money into the middle and then one person go onto the donations site and make a donation."
Stone was motivated to start the fundraising campaign when wife Vicki contracted breast cancer. Specialists told the couple the treatment she needed was just seven years old.
"It was because I thought well that research helped save a life - many others as well.
"That made me think I might try to put something back for everything the research has done for us to help in Vicki's treatment."
The month of October is breast cancer awareness month, hence the choice.
The ultimate target is to to raise $5000 through the Glen Innes rotary club to fund new research, with Mike Stone is aiming to ride 1000 kilometres personally by October 31 to further the cause.
With a lower barrier to entry for rookie riders, Mike is hoping the residents of Glen Innes will choose the health option and hit the road on two wheels.
He joked a bike ride can be a naughty option too
"End up at McDonalds and have a burger and a thickshake!"
The donations site is available here.
