But this year hundreds came to Anzac Park in Glen Innes to remember the sacrifice of Australia's defence force during many wars.
While the coronavirus pandemic prevented crowds from gathering in 2020, this year hundreds watched the march along Grey Streey and Bourke Street before gathering at the cenotaph for the 2021 Anzac Day service.
Wreaths were laid by representatives from schools, community groups, emergency services and military groups.
